Great Days!
07.30.04 (8:12 am)   [edit]
Yesterday I just got to play Antique Tycoon all day long, and it was a blast. I picked up a brass bed from a neighbor and a bunch of old furniture from a friend and put all that stuff in my new, bigger space at the antique mall. Later I had dinner with friends, which was also wonderful.

This morning, I was having coffee with Larry while perusing the garage sale ads and suddenly, I got up and said, "Wow, here's one that's already started!" and I put my coffee in a travel mug and left. It was a great success! I spent $8 on two bags full of nice stuff.

Ladies' Night Out
07.29.04 (5:57 am)   [edit]
Some friends of mine have been gathering once a month for dinner at a Mexican restaurant for a long time, and I've never been able to join them because I was always busy making coffee for our Thursday night meeting that follows the dinner. This week, however, I got somebody else to make the coffee, so I get to join my friends for dinner to celebrate various birthdays. Both my A.A. sponsor and one of my sponsees celebrate birthdays this month, so July is very special. My sponsor has 26 years of sobriety, and my sponsee has one.

I've never discussed my recovery here in my blog before, but it's an important part of my life. I have nearly 15 years of sobriety, and my growth through recovery is the reason I've become the wise, spiritual woman I am today. (OK, those who actually know me personally are laughing now...sobriety has also improved my ability to tell a joke...)

Anyway, if anybody out there in tBlog-land ever needs to discuss substance abuse, I'm someone who has some experience and can talk about it.

Sniping
07.27.04 (5:31 am)   [edit]
Today I'm going to try a free trial of an eBay auction sniping service. I've been looking for wholesale lots of vintage items on eBay so I can resell the individual items in my antique mall space, but a lot of times I'm not home when the auction is closing and a final bid needs to be made. I don't want to bid too early, because that can generate interest from other potential buyers. So we'll see how it goes.

Yesterday Betsy and I had a pleasant jaunt to the University in the morning to pick up my paycheck. I took her to Krispy Kreme, which has become a payday tradition.

Today is a big work day for me. A long shift at the antique mall, bordered in the morning and evening by lots of editing work. Oh, boy!

I'm Expanding
07.25.04 (6:41 pm)   [edit]
Thank goodness, it's my business that's expanding, not my body.

I'm less than one month into being an antique dealer, and I already need more space for the stuff I'm going to sell. I have several friends who need me to sell things they've inherited, one friend in particular has lots of big furniture items, so I need another alcove in the antique mall.

So I'm plowing what I've earned so far back into the business, and hope that someday I can spend some of the money on, say, going out for dinner or going camping or something fun. The business at this point is very fun, though, and I'm certainly not complaining about my success!

I hadn't been walking for the past few days because the weather was so hot, but today was cooler and I took a really nice Sunday morning walk.

Loving Summer!
07.23.04 (9:15 am)   [edit]
I am finally beginning to really enjoy this summer. The beginning of summer was a little crazy, starting a new job and a new business, but now I am settling into a routine that gives me time for some fun. Yesterday I took my daughter to see "Two Brothers," which was an excellent movie. We didn't know it had a Schipperke in it! (Well, it did for a while, anyway, until one of the tigers...oh, I shouldn't give away the plot...)

I started out today by going to three yard sales in my neighborhood. Everybody had great vintage things for sale, and it was fun to chat with the neighbors. I got a nice little piece of shabby stencilled furniture to sell at the antique store, plus various old kitcheny things.

I'm disappointed to read in today's paper that "Catwoman" got only one star...the headline says it stinks too bad for kitty litter! I was really looking forward to that movie...probably will see it, anyway, because my stepdaughter works at a theatre and can get us free tickets, not the first weekend usually, but after the big rush of people seeing a new movie.

Mucho Applesauce!
07.21.04 (7:07 pm)   [edit]
I've had a great day. I finished my editing work, made a large batch of applesauce from the apples I got yesterday, froze a bunch of blueberries, sold a slew of antiques, and napped twice! Life is good.

For some reason, Wednesdays have been very busy the last few weeks at the antique mall. Fortunately, I work with my favorite co-worker on Wednesdays, so no matter how busy we are, we have fun. J.C. and I have a similar sense of humor, so it's kind of like working with one of my brothers. We kid about stuff, such as chasing the customers out of the store at closing time with a genuine antique English straw thatching fork.

I still have several things to get done tonight--more apples to process and dogs to walk. But my "weekend" has begun and I'm in a really good mood.

Earth Mother Season
07.20.04 (7:17 pm)   [edit]
I love this time of the year, when there are beautiful fresh raspberries growing in my backyard, and lots of other fresh fruits and vegetables to buy at in-season prices. Today I bought 10 pounds of blueberries, a big tub of apples, and probably about 8 pounds of plums. I will have some time off in the middle of the week, so I can make applesauce and put it in the freezer. My family loves homemade applesauce, especially along with pork.

My garden has suffered this summer. I have simply not had time for it. I am thinking that if I am still working at the antique mall next summer, I will ask for reduced summer hours so I can spend more time at home with my kid, doing summery things.

Tbucks Contest Winner!
07.19.04 (5:16 am)   [edit]
RealWorld84 commented:

"I don't know that I SHOULD get them, i'd just keep passin them on. but, I like your blog and will continue to read. Have a nice day!"

That was the winning comment. I liked it because of the idea of spreading the fun around, plus the friendliness of the message.

So I just sent RealWorld84 400+ tbucks. Thank you, everyone who participated in my contest, and have a great day!

Tbucks Contest Ends Today
07.18.04 (5:20 pm)   [edit]
A week or so ago, I said I would give away my tbucks to anybody who writes the best comment, 50 words or less, on why they should get the tbucks. There are no other rules--judging is totally subjective. I've had fewer responses than I expected. So you still have a great chance of winning! Just send me a comment today, and I'll announce the winner and send out the 443 tbucks in my account tomorrow.

It's been a nice weekend. Sort of weird weather here in the Seattle area. At one point this morning, it was sunny with the exception of about a 10-foot strip in my backyard, where it happened to be raining quite hard. Strange. You don't see that very often.

I just got home from working most of the day at the antique mall, and I have a bunch of editing work to do tonight. I've been having hot flashes off and on since about 7:30 this morning, and I would like to say, "Take these jobs and shove them!" and go to a movie in an overly cool, air-conditioned theater tonight. It won't happen, though.

Play Day! Yay!
07.16.04 (7:25 am)   [edit]
Today Betsy and I are going to spend the day in a park with her friends from her new school. I am looking forward to hanging out with the other parents and getting to know them better. Truthfully, I'm just looking forward to hanging out in a park! It's a nice day, sunny and not too hot, and it should be a lot of fun.

I also don't have to work quite as much on my editing stuff this weekend because we seem to be over the worst of our backlog, so I have a shorter issue to proofread. So I am going to go out on a date with my husband on Saturday, to see a movie.

Life is good!

Scaling Back
07.15.04 (6:37 am)   [edit]
Well, I have not achieved the fundraising successes that I had hoped for in my plans to participate in the Dublin Marathon, so I am readjusting my plans. I am going to walk in the Seattle Marathon instead. I only need to raise about a third as much money for the Arthritis Foundation in order to participate in the local marathon, and I have raised nearly enough money already for that.

I'm disappointed, but relieved as well. When I first committed to Dublin, I had only one part-time job. Now I have several, plus a new business. So my circumstances have changed, and, as they say, stuff happens. The main thing is, I'm still getting out and walking, and I'm still raising money for an excellent cause. I will just have to find some other way to get to go to Europe!

I think the real clincher for me in making this decision was the fact that I got the flu this past couple of weeks. I am moving more slowly than usual. I walked up to the local grocery store this morning to pick up a few items for dinner, and it took me about 15 minutes longer than usual to make this roundtrip. It still felt great to get out and walk, but I have to be careful not to push myself too hard right now.

So it goes...

Today is my day off from both of my part-time jobs, and I plan to enjoy it. I've got some stuff I have to do, but I will have a few hours free to go do something fun with my daughter Betsy. It's hard to tell this early in the morning in the Seattle area what the weather is going to be like. Regardless of the season, it's almost always gray and cool first thing in the morning here. So whether we will go have a picnic or go see a movie or whatever is yet to be determined.

Want My Tbucks? Contest
07.14.04 (5:48 am)   [edit]
OK, I keep achieving these tbucks, but I don't want to spend them because all of the features that are available really annoy me. I don't want to have things following my cursor around on the screen, I don't want rain on my screen, I don't want fireworks. I just like to write.

So...who wants my tbucks? Here's what you need to do. I will give all of my available tbucks (currently 428 of 'em, it will be more than this before I give out the award, tho) to whoever writes the best comment of 50 words or less on the topic of Why I Should Get Your Tbucks. It's Wednesday today. I will run this contest through the weekend and the winner will get my tbucks on Monday.

You may be wondering, how will I judge which comment is "the best"? Well, it's going to be totally subjective. There are no rules or guidelines. I'm just going to give the tbucks to whoever writes something that I really like. If you think that's unfair, well, then, go see your therapist or something.

21 Percent Complete
07.12.04 (12:37 pm)   [edit]
So far I've raised a little over 21 percent of the $4900 I need to come up with for my Dublin Marathon participation. I have about 115 days to raise the remaining $3844, so I should be trying to get about $35 a day in donations if I'm going to make my goal.

I think this is doable. I am raising the money for an excellent cause--the Arthritis Foundation, which funds research, education, exercise classes, etc. for people with arthritis...which includes about one-third of the people in America! I'm in my late 40s, so almost everybody I know has had some experience with arthritis. Several people I know are quite handicapped because of some form of arthritis and need to use walkers or canes.

Some types of arthritis can be corrected by surgery or kept under control with medication, exercise, and other efforts; but I think education and prevention are going to be the key to stopping this epidemic. The problem is, when you're young, you think you're immune to the problems that you associate with "old age." I know I did! My own worst arthritis problem is due to bone spurs in my left foot, which are the result of an old break. It seemed so minor when I was 21 or so! I hardly paid attention to my sore foot, just limped around and finally felt better in a while.

I also never took the sound advice of many people throughout years to get some sort of an exercise program going on in my life. I finally was able to incorporate walking on a regular basis into my life only about a year ago. Had I been able to start something like this and keep it going earlier, I probably would have had fewer back pains, knee pains, etc., over the years.

Well, I don't want to preach. I just want to share the message, that arthritis affects too many people and there are things we can be doing about, both as individuals and as a society. If you want to help yourself and others, get out and exercise! If you want to help me help others, please click on my Dublin Marathon Fundraising Website in the left column and make a donation! Any amount will be appreciated. Thanks!

Success!
07.11.04 (5:25 pm)   [edit]
As of yesterday, the 10th of the month, I had already sold enough stuff in my antique mall space to pay for the monthly rent. Woohoo!

In fact, I had been at the store early in the day to rearrange some stuff, and I got called back in later in the day because a large piece of furniture had sold and I needed to arrange my stall again. (There had been a lot of items displayed on the chest of drawers that sold.)

Fortunately I ran across some more furniture at a very reasonable price at a garage sale yesterday, so I was able to come up with a suitable rearrangement of things. I got 4 shabby garden benches for a total price of $10. There's a store in my town that sells the same thing for about $30 apiece!

Today I worked as a store clerk, and we were really busy for a sunny Sunday afternoon. We had some antique dealers from Japan who came in and bought a lot of stuff to ship home. I guess our prices are cheap compared to what they can get in Japan.

Gotta go...I made some turkey soup this morning so we could have it when I got home from work, and I'm hungry!

Garden Benches
07.10.04 (2:19 pm)   [edit]
Today I bought 4 garden benches at a garage sale on my way over to the antique mall. I immediately incorporated them into my display. Now more of my stuff is up off the floor. I paid $10 for all four. I will price them at about that much each.

I am feeling better today physically. I definitely had some sort of flu bug. Now a couple of other people I know have it, too. I'm sorry they're sick, but it's reassuring to know that it's nothing serious, just something going around. I was picturing having to scale back on my work, and I love my work so much these days!

I had a serious blueberry craving yesterday and I bought a pint and have been nibbling on them ever since. Yum! I think I'll buy a bigger box of them next time.

Flurry of Activity
07.09.04 (2:41 pm)   [edit]
It's time for another flurry of activity, in between naps. My editing job is very busy these days. Most of the year, we compile a weekly bibliography of about 30 to 40 journals, but right now we're doing 50 a week. It's really a good thing that there are only reruns on TV right now, or I'd feel like I was missing out on something by working so much. By the time "Joan of Arcadia" starts up again in the fall, my work will have slacked off a bit and I'll be able to start the new season with Joan instead of spending every Friday night proofreading.

Now my antique selling bug has spread. My friend Rick is infected, too. I went over to his house to consult with him today about some of the glassware and collectibles that he inherited from his mom. When I started looking the stuff over, I realized it was quite valuable and that Rick has enough stuff to have his own case at the antique store. He can rent a locked case and then all of these treasures will be secure while they're on display.

Yesterday Betsy and I grabbed an hour to go to the beach. It was really great. I'm hoping to get out and do something else fun with her this weekend. It's supposed to be rainy, but there are a couple of good wildlife movies showing right now.

I have been sick! Nothing major, but the occasional headache and lots of the blahs...napping helps. But I think I'll be upright the rest of today, so I can get some work done.

How Instant Messenger Saves Marriages
07.08.04 (7:42 am)   [edit]
Last night I found Post It notes on my computer screen and my bathroom mirror, reminding me to call and get the small chip in my PT Cruiser's windshield repaired. Apparently there was also another Post It note on the ice cream in the freezer, but since I didn't eat any last night, I never saw that one. This morning, my husband managed to not say anything to me about getting the windshield fixed until he was at work, and then the bombardment began again. Here's an IM we had later.

(BusDriver = susanmsorensen; Rain City Blues = hubby)

susanmsorensen: According to scientific literature, Type A behavior is characterized by an intense and sustained drive to achieve goals and an eagerness to compete. Personalities categorized as Type A tend to have a persistent desire for external recognition and advancement. They are involved in various functions that bring about time restrictions. Such personalities have a tendency to speed up mental and physical tasks with extraordinary mental and physical alertness. These characteristics make for super-achievers and high-powered people.

susanmsorensen: Type A individuals can get a lot done and have the potential to really move ahead in the world. But there is a high price to pay. Certain components of such a personality can inhibit happiness and even threaten health. For example, the goals that Type A folks set are often poorly defined and therefore hard to achieve—a perfect recipe for misery.

susanmsorensen: Type A is also characterized by a general discontentedness and the impulse to be overly critical and demanding, even contemptuous of imperfection, in the self and others. This focus on negative aspects and the accompanying bursts of hostility and impatience result in guilt, remorse and anxiety.

Rain City Blues: so why are you telling me this?

susanmsorensen: Because it's relevant.

Rain City Blues: I guess I'm missing the connection

susanmsorensen: You are so TYPE A.

Rain City Blues: and you are so LIESURELY!!!!!

Rain City Blues: You drive me nuts

susanmsorensen: That would be leisurely, sir.

Rain City Blues: Oh...is this an exception to the i before e thingie

susanmsorensen: Apparently.

Rain City Blues: And I congratulate you on this burst of anal retentiveness. Good job!

susanmsorensen: Type B behavior is usually defined as the absence of Type A behavior. Type B personalities are relaxed and have a laid-back attitude and posture. They are friendly, accepting, patient, at ease, and generally content. They are at peace with themselves and others. They show a general sense of harmony with people, events, and life circumstances. They tend to be trusting. They focus on the positive aspects of things, people and events. Type B folks are self-encouraging, have inner motivation, are stable and have a pleasant mood. They are interested in others and accept trivial mistakes. They have an accepting attitude about trivial mistakes and a problem-solving attitude about major mistakes. They are flexible and good team members.

Rain City Blues: You fail to mention that they never finish what they start

susanmsorensen: Never is a very strong word.

susanmsorensen: It may have taken me two years to re-cover the dining room chairs, but it's done now, isn't it?

Rain City Blues: OK OK.....but the lEIsurely pace can sometimes seem like never

susanmsorensen: Yes, to you.

susanmsorensen: Not to me.

Rain City Blues: Say, what's the plan on that needlepoint quilt in the upstairs hallway?

susanmsorensen: To me, it all fits into the cosmic plan. That's not a needlepoint quilt, it's a tied quilt. I recently found the yarn again that I was using to tie it.

susanmsorensen: So it's only a matter of time now until the yarn and the quilt come together.

Rain City Blues: Not being into arts and crafts, it's all needlepoint to me

susanmsorensen: Needlepoint is a specific type of craft.

Rain City Blues: So is a ferryboat

susanmsorensen: So is witchery.

Rain City Blues: ...and the point is????

susanmsorensen: I was about to ask you.

Rain City Blues: what?

susanmsorensen: What's the point?

Rain City Blues: that we're willing to grow along spiritual lines

susanmsorensen: I am always willing.

Rain City Blues: This is a good thing. Me too

susanmsorensen: I'm trudging the god damned road.

Rain City Blues: you mean the one of happy destiny?

susanmsorensen: Yup, that's the sucker.

Rain City Blues: the never-ending marathon

susanmsorensen: OK, well, this is all very entertaining, but I have things I must accomplish, despite my leisurely nature.

susanmsorensen: Go take this test. http://discoveryhealth.queend...

Rain City Blues: Yeah, me too.....but ya know...despite your aggravating characteristics, I wouldn't trade you for anyone

susanmsorensen: Yeah yeah whatever.

Rain City Blues: Love you, you old poop!

susanmsorensen: All right, I love you too, Mr. Annoying.

Rain City Blues: I resemble that!

Nap Advocate!
07.07.04 (8:12 am)   [edit]
One of the best books I've read in recent years is "Change Your Life Without Getting Out of Bed: The Ultimate Nap Book" by Sark, published by Simon & Schuster in 1999.

Sark says that her first and best job ever was being the Wake-Up Fairy in kindergarten. She had a magic wand and touched each sleeping child on the head with it. They awoke from their naps to have little cups of juice and a cookie.

Sleep deprivation is a really bad problem these days. It's dangerous, and it makes people unpleasant. Naps are the answer! Naps will help you grow and change emotionally, become more healthy physically, and make more money, too! My favorite affirmation right now is, "The more naps I take, the more money I make." And it seems to be working just fine.

Lots of people have nap-guilt. Not me, man! If you think you don't deserve to nap, get this book! It will change your life.

Thank You, Anonymous Reader!
07.06.04 (7:45 pm)   [edit]
Somebody who reads my blog went to my Dublin Marathon Fundraising Website and anonymously donated $26--a buck for every mile that I'll be walking in the marathon. That is so cool! What an uplifting thing to discover on my Website!

There's something really heartening about getting positive feedback from other people. It always makes me smile a little more, walk a little taller, etc.

Another "ego pellet" that I got today was finding out that I got a raise at my University job! It came along with a very nice memo telling me I was doing a very good job. Yes, that felt good!

Ninety-Nine Cents Day!
07.05.04 (4:19 pm)   [edit]
The one thing I love about Mondays is that a couple of local thriftshops have a big sale every Monday. The way it works is, they tag everything that comes in one week with a certain color. Then when that color of tag (and the merchandise to which it's attached) has been hanging around for a couple of months, they say, "OK, all the yellow tagged items are 99 cents!"

Value Village has 99 cents sales on Monday, and Goodwill has $1.29 sales on Monday, and the St. Vincent's that is on the way to my work at the University has a 50 cent sale on Monday. So wherever I happen to be, I can usually hit one of the stores and get some good stuff.

Today I went to the Value Village closest to home and got a couple of nice metal racks that I can use for displaying items in my antique store space. I think they were originally intended as racks for records, but they will work for plates, trays, etc. I also got some items to sell, including a big beautiful stainless steel bowl from Spain that oughta catch somebody's eye, plus some lesser things.

I am working on a business card to market both my antique mall space and my eBay store. I registered my business with the state last week as Frugal Sue's Pre-Owned Merchandise. I should be getting my tax exempt number any day, and that will allow me to buy stuff without having to pay sales tax, since the things I buy will be resold with sales tax paid the next time around.

I have hardly had any time at all to spend with my family lately. Betsy has been having a wonderful time living in front of her computer, playing Furcadia and chatting with her online buddies day and night. It isn't only my antique work that's been preventing me from doing family stuff--it's also the fact that my editing job is at full-tilt right now. I'm looking forward to getting over the hump with that...hopefully the work will begin to slack off sometime this summer and I'll be able to get to the beach occasionally!

Dogs and Fireworks
07.04.04 (8:40 am)   [edit]
Dogs don't like fireworks! We haven't had any official fireworks shows in our area yet (that will happen tonight), but a lot of people have purchased fireworks and have been using them at home the last few nights. It's been very upsetting to our Schipperkes, particularly Jack, who has tried to dig a foxhole in the carpet under my feet several times. If he could completely disappear right now, I think he would.

Years ago, in our pre-Schipperke years, I had an old Airedale terrior named Sadie. I remember Larry and I were taking Sadie for a walk one 4th of July weekend, and we heard a lot of firecrackers and poor Sadie would jump everytime another one went off. I kiddingly said, "Yep, Sadie, it's the 4th of July and they're blowing up all the dogs!" It made Larry laugh a lot. After that, we started commenting on the various types of sounds that the fireworks made...."Oooh, there goes a string of poodles!" Poor old girl--Sadie used to jump the fence on the 4th of July if she had the opportunity--as if she could run away from the sounds.

I will probably stay home with the dogs tonight while the rest of my family goes to the fireworks. I just always feel so sorry for the dogs on Independence Day. I celebrated the 4th of July a day early--we had a fun cookout in the backyard last night. We have an outdoor fireplace, and we roasted hotdogs and made Smores. Can you believe it, my New York husband had NEVER had a Smore in his whole life until last night?! He didn't much like it, either. Poor fellow. Such a deprived life. The kids and I absolutely loved the cookout last night--Larry's response was, "Well, it was different." LOL!

Ahhhh, Coffeeeeeeee....
07.03.04 (3:21 pm)   [edit]
I just woke up from a well deserved nap and I'm drinking a nice strong cup of Starbuck's Ethiopian Yergecheffe that I brewed at home. I'm using my Coffeesaurus cup, too. What a wonderful way to get my brain cells back on-line.

My best friend Helen came with me to the antique mall today and helped me price some items and gave me some ideas of where to display some items. My space is now thoroughly loaded with stuff, and I need people to start buying things so I will have room for more.

Helen observed that the people I work with at the antique mall are kind of strange. You know, I hadn't really thought about it! I think this may be the first job that I enjoyed so much that I didn't notice people's quirks. Or maybe I'm just getting so quirky myself that I have no basis for evaluating that anymore. I'm not sure!

I was so tired last night that I couldn't stay up late doing my editing work, so I'm a bit behind on that. But now that I've napped, I can stay up late tonight and work.

I sometimes find something else pleasant to do at the same time as my editing work, such as having the local "All Blues" show on the radio or tuning the TV to some show that has no plot to distract me from my work, such as "Antiques Roadshow" or "Trading Spaces." Or I'll work for an hour, then take a break to play one of my favorite word games on the Internet. I absolutely love Yahoo's Literati and PopCap's Psychobabble. Both games are always challenging, and I've met some fun people on both sites.

When I was younger, I never would have dreamed of working on weekend nights, unless it was a gig in a bar. But now I actually enjoy the quiet, somewhat tedious editing work I do. Of course, when I was younger, there are many things I never dreamed. Too bad! The dreams I did have would not have been very satisfying to me now. If they had come true, I'd be an aging rock star now, and that can't be fun.

Chomping at the Bit!
07.02.04 (7:58 am)   [edit]
Yesterday I moved a truckload and a carload of stuff to my space at the antique mall, and people were buying before I could even finish setting up my space! I'm thrilled. I figure I need to gross just $7 a day in order to break even....more when I go out and purchase more stuff to sell. And that seems very doable.

Some of the other dealers said my space has an ambience. It's less formal than some spaces, and more tidy than some others. I have a lot of old kitcheny stuff and some outdoorsy stuff, too. I will have to take some photos over there today and post them so that all the artistic people who read my blog can give me display suggestions!

Well, I'm off to an estate sale in the neighborhood, then I'm going to go do some fundraising for my Dublin Marathon, and then I have to pick up some work at the UW. Then there will be another carload of stuff to take over to the antique pavilion. Then I will come home and proofread until the cows come home. (Which, as my children love to point out, could be a very long time, given that we have no cows.)

Driven
07.01.04 (5:15 am)   [edit]
My horoscope in this morning's Seattle Times says that I will be absolutely driven today, focused, single-minded, etc. How true! I have a couple of very important goals to accomplish.

I got home last night and remembered that we loaned our truck to a friend last weekend and haven't gotten it back yet. I'm gonna need it today! I hope he can bring it back. You can't transport furniture very well in a PT Cruiser, and less so in a Miata.

Until I can move some stuff over to the antique mall, I can keep pricing! More and more things that need selling have revealed themselves to me.

I also need to reach a fundraising goal for my participation in the Dublin Marathon. I will visit a few neighbors and friends today to accomplish that.

Money, money, money, it's all about money today.
